$3 Million for Western Suburbs Leagues Club

Federal Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry, is pleased to announce a $3 million election commitment to upgrade the Western Suburbs Leagues Club in Walkerston.

This funding will deliver a major expansion of the club’s function area, providing community groups, local businesses and sporting clubs with a first-class venue to host large-scale events in the heart of the Pioneer Valley. The commitment also includes vital clubhouse refurbishments to improve amenities and ensure better accessibility for all.

Michelle Landry said the investment will strengthen a club that has long been a pillar of the Walkerston community.

“The Western Suburbs Leagues Club isn’t just about sport; it’s about bringing people together. From grassroots football to community events, this club is at the heart of the Pioneer Valley,” Ms Landry said.

“An elected Coalition Government will deliver the $3 million needed to expand and upgrade this facility, ensuring it remains a top-class venue for years to come.”

Ms Landry slammed Labor’s neglect of regional sporting and events infrastructure, vowing to put local communities first.

“Regional Australia deserves better. Unlike Labor, the Coalition backs local clubs, community groups and businesses. We will invest in the infrastructure that keeps our regions strong,” she said.

With this election commitment, Michelle Landry and the Coalition are standing up for the people of Capricornia and delivering real support where it’s needed most.
