Building Better Regions Fund.

Round 5 of the Building Better Regions fund has two streams. The Infrastructure Projects Stream supports investment ready, tourism related, infrastructure projects that provide economic and social benefits for regional and remote areas. The Community Investments Stream supports new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans or leadership and capability strengthening activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas.

Community Investments Stream

The Round Five Community Investments Stream supports new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans or leadership and capability strengthening activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas.

Close date: 05 Mar 2021 05:00 PM AEDT.

What do you get?
Grants of $5000 to $1 million to cover 50% or more of eligible project costs.
The fund will deliver a higher percentage of costs depending on how remote your location is. See the Remoteness Classification Map here.

Who is this for?
An incorporated not-for-profit, local government agency or body or non-distributing co-operative.

What is this for?
The Community Investments Stream will fund new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, or leadership and capability strengthening activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas.

Infrastructure projects are not eligible under the Community Investments Stream.

How do you apply?
You should read the grant opportunity guidelines and sample grant agreement before you apply. 

To apply, you must submit your application through the online portal. You’ll need to set up an account when you first log into the portal. The portal allows you to apply for and manage a grant or service in a secure online environment.

Infrastructure Projects Stream

The Round Five Infrastructure Projects Stream supports tourism related, investment ready projects that provide economic and social benefits for regional and remote areas.

What do you get?
Grants of $20,000 to $10 million to cover 50% or more of eligible project costs.
The fund will deliver a higher percentage of costs depending on how remote your location is. See the Remoteness Classification Map here.

Who is this for?
An incorporated not-for-profit, local government agency or body or non-distributing co-operative.

What is this for?
Tourism related infrastructure projects. Infrastructure typically relates to buildings, roads, structures and communications/power supply.

You will be asked to demonstrate the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on your region’s tourism industry and how your project will provide benefits to the tourism industry to assist in mitigating the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prospective applicants are also encouraged to contact their local Regional Development Australia (RDA) committee to discuss their application. More information including contact details for your local RDA can be found at www.rda.gov.au

Applications close on 5 March 2021, with successful applicants expected to be announced in mid-2021.
