The iconic Nebo Showgrounds, home of the beloved Nebo Rodeo, is set to receive a major boost, with Federal Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry announcing a $4 million commitment to fund Stage 2 of its redevelopment, if an LNP Government is elected.
The upgrades will deliver much-needed improvements to camping facilities, a redevelopment of the undercover arena and design work for a new outdoor arena, helping future-proof the site for generations to come.
Ms Landry said the redevelopment will be a game-changer for Nebo and the wider Isaac region.
“Nebo Showgrounds is more than just a venue, it’s the beating heart of this proud rural community,” Ms Landry said.
“It’s home to one of the biggest rodeos in the country, bringing thousands of visitors and injecting valuable dollars into local businesses, accommodation and tourism. These upgrades will ensure the showgrounds can continue to grow and thrive.”
Ms Landry said investing in the showgrounds was about backing the spirit of the bush and recognising the vital role rural communities play in Australia’s prosperity.
“Regional Australia punches well above its weight when it comes to driving our economy. The Nebo Showgrounds is a perfect example; it supports local jobs, showcases the best of country Australia, and fosters community pride.”
“This $4 million commitment is a promise to the people of Nebo and the Isaac region – under an LNP Government, we will back you, your events and your future.”
