Federal Member for Capricornia and Shadow Assistant Minister for Manufacturing, Michelle Landry has been appointed Deputy Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Resources.
Ms Landry said it was an honour to be appointed deputy chair and her experience representing Capricornia for four terms will put her in good stead to serve the Committee.
“I want to thank Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and Leader of the National Party David Littleproud for putting me forward for this position.
“Capricornia has more mining projects than any other electorate and my support for the resources industry has been rock solid.
“The Coalition has a proud history of supporting the industries that keep our lights on and food on the table.
“I will be using this position to help advance Australian industries and support the communities that support Australia,” Ms Landry said.
