With the Federal Election now set for 3 May, Federal Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry, is standing strong in her fight to secure a better future for the region.
Ms Landry has delivered more than $7 billion in critical infrastructure and priority projects—creating jobs, boosting local economies, and ensuring Capricornia gets its fair share.
“These past three years have been tough for regional Australia, and every single dollar I’ve secured for Capricornia has been won through hard work and persistence,” Ms Landry said.
“I fought to restore and increase funding for the Rockhampton Ring Road after Labor’s disgraceful cuts and saved the Phillips Creek Bridge from being scrapped. I refuse to let Capricornia suffer under Labor’s neglect.”
Ms Landry has already secured major funding commitments this election, including:
- $15 million – Rockhampton Airport’s Bay 7 expansion
- $5 million for Stage 1 of the Rockhampton Airport Freight Hub
- $750,000 for the Yeppoon Town Centre Revitalisation project
“These projects will drive economic growth, create jobs, and set our region up for the future.”
In contrast, under Labor, Australians are paying more for food, more for rent, and more for power.
“Regional Australia has been stuck in an infrastructure freeze, with funding for vital projects slashed. Instead, Labor has diverted money from regional grants to pay for 41,000 more public servants in Canberra, while Capricornia and the rest of the country suffer.
“I have a proven track record of delivering for Capricornia. Unlike Labor, I don’t make empty promises. I get results.”
