Federal Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry has visited Collinsville to view the new water park and CBD after both projects received Federal Government funding.
Whitsunday Regional Council received $1.2 million for the Waterpark and $741,750 to revitalise the Collinsville CBD.
Ms Landry said that that she is proud to have delivered much needed funding for the Collinsville community.
“The water park and CBD revitalisation are important so that Collinsville can have the facilities of the future,” Ms Landry said.
“The water park is located next to the Collinsville swimming pool complex at Lions Park with the project voted the top priority by residents during Whitsunday Regional Council’s community consultation.
“Meanwhile the CBD revitalisation will include significant landscaping, landmark/ shade trees, road surface upgrades to signify Main Street entrances, new furniture and footpath upgrades.
“I would like to thank Mayor Andrew Willcox and Whitsunday Regional Council for working constructively with the Federal Government.”
The water park is funded by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
