Collinsville residents can finally enjoy reliable mobile coverage, with a new Telstra mobile phone base station officially switched on and delivering expanded 5G service across the community.
Federal Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry, said the delivery of this critical telecommunications upgrade is the result of over a year of determined advocacy on behalf of the people of Collinsville.
“For more than 12 months, Collinsville has been plagued by poor or non-existent mobile coverage, leaving locals frustrated, businesses hamstrung and emergency communications at risk.
“This outcome is a hard-fought win for the people of Collinsville but it was a fight worth having.”
Ms Landry said the new base station is a significant step forward for Collinsville.
“Mobile coverage isn’t just about convenience. It’s about safety, business viability and staying connected with loved ones. In a regional town like Collinsville, it’s absolutely essential.
“This is what being a local representative is all about, standing up, speaking out and delivering real results. I’m proud to have secured this outcome for the people of Collinsville and I’ll keep fighting to make sure every part of Capricornia gets the services it deserves.”
The new base station is now live and providing improved 5G service to residents, businesses, and visitors across Collinsville and surrounding areas.
