Landry delivers more funding for Collinsville QCWA

Federal Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry has delivered an additional $100,000 in federal funding to the Collinsville Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA) to construct a new hall.

The Collinsville QCWA has already received a commitment of $325,000 in 2019 from the Coalition Government however with the initial builder pulling out and with rising building costs, it has been determined that the project will now cost a further $100,000.

Ms Landry said she was proud to support the project further.

“With the ongoing effects of COVID causing strain on the construction sector, I am very happy to announce further support for this vital project to the community in Collinsville.

“The new QCWA hall will benefit the whole community. The mining companies and Whitsunday Regional Council will use the hall to host meetings and the local dance school will hire the hall for lessons.

“I also wish to thank Mayor Andrew Wilcox and the Whitsunday Regional Council for waiving approximately $15,000 worth of council fees to further assist and support the Collinsville QCWA,” Ms Landry said.
