Capricornia heads to the polls tomorrow and Michelle Landry is making one thing clear, she’s the only candidate with a proven record and a real plan to deliver for the region.
With $7 billion in funding already secured for local infrastructure and communities and $39 million in fresh commitments, Michelle Landry has one message: “I’ve delivered before and I’ll do it again.”
“I’ve fought tooth and nail for Capricornia. From the Rockhampton Hospital carpark and the Yeppoon Foreshore, to the Walkerston Bypass and Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road, I’ve made sure our region gets its fair share,” Ms Landry said.
“The future’s just as important. Rookwood Weir is now delivering water to our farmers thanks to Coalition funding and I’m pushing hard to turn Rockhampton Airport into a major freight hub. Better roads like the Bruce and Peak Downs Highways are key to unlocking our ag and mining exports and I’m ready to get it done through the Coalition’s Regional Australia Future Fund and the Ag and Mining Roads program.”
A returned Coalition Government will deliver real cost-of-living relief by halving the fuel excise to slash prices at the bowser and Cost of Living Tax Offset, attract more GPs to regional communities through a $400 million incentive package and invest in more affordable housing through the Housing Infrastructure Program to ensure regional Australians get a fairer deal.
“Families are doing it tough and Labor has turned its back on the regions. They’ve cut vital funding from the industries that keep this country going and Capricornia is paying the price.
“You only have to drive through this vast electorate of 91,000 square kilometres to see what we’ve delivered.”
“This election is a clear choice: a government that invests in regional Queensland or more cuts and neglect from Labor.”
