Landry secures almost $39 Million in commitments for Capricornia

Capricornia’s community groups, sporting clubs and local councils are set to benefit from almost $39 million in funding under a future Coalition Government.

Federal Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry said the funding is the result of months of hard work alongside local groups to secure vital support that will transform communities.

“It takes hundreds of sausage sizzles to raise just $1,000 and that’s if people have the time and resources to fundraise. This $39 million isn’t just money; it’s new clubhouses, upgraded facilities, safer spaces and stronger communities,” Ms Landry said.

“These commitments will make a real difference and I’m proud to have fought for every dollar alongside our grassroots groups.”

Michelle Landry slammed Labor’s silence and inaction in Capricornia.

“While I’m delivering real commitments, Labor has delivered nothing. The Labor candidate hasn’t promised a cent to our community and that tells you everything you need to know about where their priorities lie.

“Labor’s track record is clear: they cut regional programs, they rip money from the bush and they leave communities like ours behind. Only the Coalition is prepared to reverse Labor’s cuts and put funding back where it belongs and is created – in regional Australia.

“Capricornia needs a fighter who delivers, not a seat warmer who takes orders from Brisbane and Canberra. I’ll never stop standing up for our region and the Coalition will back us every step of the way.”
