Locals with cancer cannot wait. We NEED a PET scanner in Rocky URGENTLY.
**UPDATE** – Labor have approved a PET Scanner for our Hospital but it won’t be operational until 2027.
Over 1400 people are diagnosed with cancer every year in Central Queensland.
Currently locals have to travel hours to either Mackay or Bundaberg for scans, due to the failure of Queensland Labor to provide a PETCT scanner for Rockhampton Hospital.
Time and time again, our region is left behind by Labor.
Over 1800 locals signed the petition and we dragged them kicking and screaming to tick off on the approval of our PET Scanner only to find out it won’t be ready until 2027.
This is not good enough. We’ve already waited 18 months, and we can’t wait another three years.
WE NEED A PET SCANNER IN ROCKY URGENTLY.
