Hardworking Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry, is pleased to announce that Collinsville is one step closer to improved telecommunications, with public consultation now open for a new Telstra mobile base station at 11 Blake Street. This station will boost coverage and capacity for businesses and homes in Collinsville and Scottville.
Michelle Landry MP has been actively lobbying the Minister for Communications and Telstra to secure a new mobile base station for Collinsville. She welcomed the launch of public consultation, giving locals a chance to voice their support for this vital infrastructure.
“Collinsville and Scottville residents deserve mobile coverage on par with metropolitan areas. On my visits to Collinsville this year, I experienced the coverage issues firsthand and it simply wasn’t good enough,” Ms Landry said.
“This week, I met with the Minister for Communications and confirmed that, thanks to my persistent lobbying, the Collinsville community will soon have a new mobile base station.
“It’s been a hard-fought battle, but I’ve delivered for Collinsville by securing this critical infrastructure. Construction will begin early next year, following public consultation closing and the Whitsunday Regional Council approving the Development Application.”
Community consultation is now open until 5PM, Monday 10th February 2024, with submissions being made to community.consult@downergroup.com.
