Stronger Communities Program Round 10: Expressions of Interest now open

I’m pleased to invite eligible organisations across Capricornia to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Round 10 of the Stronger Communities Program.

The program provides funding for eligible projects that deliver social benefits for local communities. Projects may include small capital works, equipment purchases and minor infrastructure upgrades that strengthen community facilities and encourage greater participation.

Please read the Grant Guidelines before starting an EOI to make sure your organisation and project meet the eligibility criteria.

Funding available

  • The minimum grant amount is $2,500.
  • The maximum grant amount is $20,000.
  • The total cost of your project cannot exceed $50,000.

For this round, grant funding may cover up to 100% of eligible project costs. For local government bodies, funding may cover up to 50% of eligible project costs.

What projects may be eligible?

Eligible activities are set out in the Grant Guidelines and may include:

  • Building, fitting out, altering or extending community facilities and sports grounds
  • Improving disability access and amenities
  • Providing women’s facilities at public facilities or sports grounds
  • Purchasing and installing defibrillators and other first aid equipment
  • Purchasing and installing ICT or audio-visual equipment that delivers community and social benefits
  • Installing energy-efficient appliances or systems, renewable energy sources and energy storage
  • Improving community infrastructure to manage heat stress or support native plants and wildlife

Incorporated not-for-profit and other eligible organisations are invited to submit an EOI. Organisations that are not incorporated may be able to participate through sponsorship by an incorporated organisation, or an auspice arrangement. The sponsoring organisation would need to complete the EOI on their behalf.

How the application process works

This is a closed grant process, so submitting an EOI to the Capricornia Electorate Office is the first step.

EOIs are considered through a local community consultation process. Projects identified through that process are then nominated to the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. The department assesses eligibility and invites eligible organisations to submit a formal grant application. Final funding decisions are made through the Australian Government grant process.

If your organisation has a project that could make a practical difference in our community, I encourage you to review the guidelines and consider submitting an EOI.

Expressions of Interest close at 5pm on Monday 2 November 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.

If you have questions about the program or whether your proposed project fits the guidelines, please email michelle.landry.mp@aph.gov.au or call my Sarina office on (07) 4943 2722.
