39 not-for-profit organisations across Capricornia will share in $66,225 in funding through the 2024–25 Volunteer Grants program, delivering a welcome boost to the region’s dedicated community groups.
Federal Member for Capricornia, Michelle Landry said the funding recognises the vital role volunteers play in building strong, connected communities.
“Volunteer Grants funding provides practical support to local organisations, helping them equip and assist the volunteers who give so generously of their time and skills,” Ms Landry said.
“Volunteering not only supports those in need but also fosters inclusion, encourages participation and creates pathways to employment. This funding will help ensure our local volunteers have the tools and resources they need to continue making a positive impact.”
The Volunteer Grants program provides between $1,000 and $5,000 to eligible not-for-profit community groups. Grants can be used to purchase equipment, cover insurance costs or fund volunteer-run activities that strengthen community wellbeing, including initiatives for children under 18.
