Federal Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry has congratulated all those involved in the organisation of Beef Australia 2021.
‘Beef 2021 kicks off today connecting beef producers, agribusiness, industry experts and international trading partners. I am very proud that the Federal Government has contributed $3.9 million towards this world class event.” Ms Landry said.
Beef 2021 is a chance for the Beef Industry to show off and demonstrate the quality of Australian Beef Cattle and produce.
The event includes a trade show, celebrity chefs, as well as presentations from academics and industry experts.
The recently released State of the Industry Report showed that domestic and export sales of red meat and livestock totalled $28.5 billion, of which red meat exports contributed $17.2 billion and domestic sales accounted for the remaining $11.3 billion.
Beef 2021 will inject more than $100 million into the Capricorn region’s economy.
Ms Landry said “As a member of the National Party I am proud to always give a voice to those who live and work in Regional Australia. Those who roll their sleeves up, work hard on the land and make a valuable contribution to the economy of Australia.
The event itself has been organised under the shadow of Covid-19 which at one stage could have rail-roaded this wonderful event. But months later here we are, and the event couldn’t be in a healthier state.
My thanks to the board of Beef Australia and most especially the volunteers and event organisers. Let’s make this the best Beef Australia ever.”
