Grants Open For Capricornia Ex-Service Organisations

EX-SERVICE organisations (ESOs) in Capricornia who help veterans and their families are invited to for the 2021-22 Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) grants program which are now open.

Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry said the services provided by advocacy groups are highly valued by the ex-service community.

“ESOs in Capricornia provide vital advocacy services for current and former serving men and women. The BEST grants program will fund a range of essential support measures from ESOs and advocates, including helping veterans with their compensation claims and ensuring they get access to entitlements and services,” Ms Landry said.

“The services provided by ESOs can help veterans and their families’ access local support and resources, empowering them to improve their health and wellbeing, stay well, age well and engage fully in social and economic life.”

Applications for the grants are now open online, with ESOs that provide advocacy services encouraged to submit their application before the closing date of 14 April 2021.

“I encourage all ESOs that provide advocacy services in [insert electorate] to apply for a BEST grant to continue providing excellent services to our local veteran community.”

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs offers a range of grant programs to assist with providing support to veterans and their families. To apply for a grant or for further information on BEST grants visit the Community Grants Hub website https://www.communitygrants.gov.au)
