Federal Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry has announced as part of the May 2021 Budget, the Yeppoon Aquatic Centre will get a much needed $13 million upgrade to set it up for a bright future.
“This project has been on my radar for a few years. I fought hard to get the money to upgrade this much-loved facility in Yeppoon.
“It’s where many children including mine learnt to swim and that tradition continues. With $13 million of Federal money it won’t be long before the Yeppoon Aquatic Centre is as good as new,” Ms Landry said
This $13 million upgrade includes:
- new 50m ten lane competition pool
- new amenities and administration area
- new disability access facilities
- new entry, pathways, and additional on-site car parking
- new health and wellness centre
- new community hall
“I am so glad to be able to do this for the Yeppoon community. A facility like the Yeppoon Aquatic Centre is so vital for young families, schools, and the community.
As the Capricorn Coast grows in population this state-of-the-art complex will set the community up brilliantly,” Ms Landry said
The $13 million is part of the Federal Government’s Budget 2021 and adds to the millions of dollars in roads, infrastructure and vital facilities delivered by Federal Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry.
